Revolutionizing the way women think about and wear makeup, Bobbi Brown, uber-makeup artist, makes us feel so confident when applying her makeup. Just from Aspen flushed cheeks? Check. Well rested (I have not slept in days) eyes? Check. Face it, we need her (and her makeup). Recently releasing the Bobbi Brown Makeup Manual, a Nautical Collection and Perfectly Defined Mascara, Bobbi is one busy lady.
We sized up Bobbi in our pint sized interview:
What did you want to be when you grew up? From a very young age, I knew I wanted to become a makeup artist. I used to play with my mother’s makeup, putting it on all of my dolls and even our family dog!
What are your favorite kids shops/brands? I love J. Crew. They have such cute clothes and are made really well. I have three sons who all grow so quickly, so it’s nice to have good hand-me-downs!
What do you wish you had more time for? Relaxing.
When your boys grow up, what do you hope they remember? To treat everyone with respect and kindness, no matter who they are or what they do.
What is your key to balancing a successful career and being a successful parent? It’s all about finding a balance. For me, family always comes first. I spend two days a week at my office in New York City and three days a week at my office in Montclair, New Jersey, which is where I live.
What is your favorite thing to do alone? Exercise. I love to spin at my spinning studio, 3sixtycycling. Exercising is such a great way to release all of your stress and clear your head of the daily grind.
Your favorite thing to do with your family? Go on vacation together. We have a beach house in Bay Head, where we go to relax, and we also love to unwind in the Bahamas.
3 items you can not live without… Concealer It’s the secret to the universe, instantly making you look more refreshed and awake, no matter what’s going on in the outside world. My Prada loafers. They can be dressed up or down, and they’re really comfortable! My Ted Muehling earrings. They are so pretty, and the colored stones dress up any outfit.
