The Breakers Palm Beach is the perfect getaway
It’s just that time of year. Summer seems long gone and winter is right around the corner. Perfect time to plan a well deserved vacation.
The go-to place for the preppy elite, Palm Beach (thanks to The Breakers) has become a magnet for families that return year after year. We needed to find out just what the fuss was all about. And, the minute we got there, we did.
Every detail of The Breakers Palm Beach is so impeccably thought out that you will fall in love at check-in. A recent $250 million renovation and expansion only reiterated just how fabulous the property actually is. Still privately owned, you get the feel of a small Inn, with the amenities of a 140 acre Five Diamond Hotel. Pristine beaches. 2 18-hole golf courses. A luxury spa. A family entertainment center. The Coconut Crew Kids Camp. The list is never ending. We were even pleasantly surprised that the chefs from their 9 restaurants, use organic vegetables and herbs picked straight from their own garden. Mealtime is just as important to them as time on the beach. According to Anthony Sicignano, the Executive Chef of The Breakers, they are on a mission to make healthy eating a savory experience for kids and a rewarding one for their parents. That is something we can get used to. (We even convinced him to share some recipes with us: Turkey Meatballs and Mac & Cheese).
Everything is fair game at the Breakers. No request seems out of the ordinary for their staff who lovingly treat the pint-sized guests with the same gusto as the adults. And, who in a moments notice have enough ice-cream to tame the most turbulent toddler. Spend a day at their Mediterranean-style beach club and treat yourselves to a pool cabana. You won’t regret it.
Oh, and did we mention the Burberry and Ralph Lauren stores on site? Heaven. Pure Heaven.
As for us? We’ve already rebooked our exact trip for next year.
